Hi, I'm Steve Monahan. I'm a prior fortune 100 executive and through a strange twist of life, now an animal welfare leader. Destiny has a funny way of throwing us off our high horse when it's needed. For most of my life I was strong and healthy. Then suddenly I developed a serious illness, so serious the doctors gave me but months to live. But again, another curveball, and they found a way to save me. It involved a go for broke, life or death operation. Fortunately, I drew life. That encounter with death changed me forever. I seemed to awaken me to a new world and with it a need to serve others. 

The others I chose to serve were our planets animals in need. I was given a second chance at life, and I decided to spend my new life helping and rescuing animals in need of a second opportunity as well. I always loved animals, but if you had asked me before my encounter with mortality, that in a few years I would be starting a nonprofit to rescue animals, I would never have imagined it.

 Becoming a rescuer and animal welfare person has totally changed my life. Animals have rescued me! Today, being involved in a community of those who experience every day the unconditional love animals give to mankind  I am at peace, happier and live a fuller more compassionate life.
